Introducing EasyEat: why it earned the first place in our collection

Five small dogs eating side by side from EasyEat raised feeders in Beige, Powder Blue, Charcoal Grey, Sage Green and Steel Grey

Every collection has to start somewhere. For Daisy & Co Mercantile, it starts at dinner time.

The EasyEat 2.0 raised feeder is the first product we’ve chosen to share. It hasn’t come from a catalogue or a trend list. It’s what our own dogs eat from every single day.

What it is

EasyEat combines a fixed raised feeding surface with an open, low-front entry. Instead of pushing their face down into a deep bowl, your dog can reach their food more comfortably, with their head in a more natural position.

The open shape was designed with flat-faced dogs in mind, such as Pugs and French Bulldogs. Every dog is different though, so it’s worth checking the dimensions against your own dog before ordering. The height is fixed rather than adjustable.

The silicone insert is food-grade, lifts out easily and goes straight in the dishwasher, so tidying up after dinner takes seconds.

How we use it at home

When we first brought EasyEat home, we were thinking of Fergus. As our flat-faced Shih Tzu, he seemed the obvious one to benefit.

It didn’t stay that way for long. All five of our dogs now have their own, including our Chihuahuas, who can be fussy at mealtimes. Every one of them has benefited, and the Chihuahuas seem genuinely happier eating from theirs.

We’ve also noticed what seems to be better digestion since making the switch. We want to be honest that this is our own experience with our own dogs, not a promise of the same result for yours.

Why it earned its place

Our test for anything in the Mercantile is simple. Does it make everyday life with dogs a little calmer, and is it something we’re happy to leave out at home?

EasyEat ticks both. It does its job well, it’s easy to keep clean, and it comes in six colours chosen to sit nicely in a real home: Beige, Powder Blue, Charcoal Grey, Sage Green, Rose Pink and Steel Grey. No more hiding the dog bowls when visitors arrive.

What’s next for EasyEat

We’re already looking at EasyEat’s water inserts and slow-feeding options. As with everything in the Mercantile, they’ll only join the collection once our own dogs have tried them and we’re happy to recommend them. We’ll share how we get on here first.

Personalisation is also on its way. For now, feeders are supplied without names.

More thoughtfully chosen finds will follow. We’re starting with one because we’d rather introduce each piece properly than fill the shelves for the sake of it.
